7/31/08 EP doneness-charlie parker


today i got the final, final master, DONE, version of the 10,000 oceans EP. no, really, it's done. after what i thought would be the end of me- a solid battle with photo shop and some back and forth emailing with a lovely printing team- all is set and ready for the press! or, umm, digtal computer thing that makes copies, or something.

I CANNOT express the relief and excitement that charlie and i are sharing right this moment about the EP's doneness. i've been home-making, hand-stamping, and digi-pack saving this 5 song creation for years now and frankly, although it's been a hoot and pleasure, BRING ON THE SHRINK WRAP.

i even just found an old stack of polaroids that i took in my old home in the quiet berkshires that were supposed to find their way into another mail ordered, home made EP by karmen. some of the snap shots (usually of things like tomatoes shot REALLY close up because that sort of thing looks cool) never made it into an eco-friendly digi-pack. some were never sent out ever, and now they live in the bottom of my yellow filing cabinet.

i'm pretty sure i can gurantee those polaroids taken so long ago will find their way into this new, FINAL, incarnation of what has always been, and what will always be known as the 10,000 oceans EP. even shrink wrap can't stop me. i'll find a way to use 'em.
